Hello Hello! My name is Jaden Sawyer I am The Country Cottage-Named for my Gran’s house, where I spent a lot of my childhood and which currently doubles as my photography studio. I am just a twenty something, wife and new momma who has a lot of passions. I love Jesus, photography, weddings, party planning, DIYing, crafting, cooking and the list goes on. I am a regular Jill of all trades (not meaning I am great at everything on my list).

My largest passion, of course behind Jesus and my husband, would be photography. I got my first camera when I was in middle school and decided right then I wanted to be a professional photographer. I had a business plan written and decided on schools, everything was completely unrealistic but it doesn’t hurt to dream right? I just had a tiny little point and shoot that took terrible pictures and I would get so frustrated because I looked in magazines and online at these amazingly beautiful photographs and I just couldn’t do it. So unfortunately I gave up for a bit, my Junior year of high school I began doing more research and decided I wanted to try again. My wonderful Gran bought me my first DSLR camera with some lenses. I discovered how lenses changed pictures and I was so excited my photos actually looked pretty! Though I was in high school and I didn’t have any time so my camera began to collect dust. I would take it on vacation and use it occasionally when inspiration struck.

My freshman year of college I had my first client it was so cool to do something I loved for someone that wasn’t my little sister and her friends! Then I didn’t have another client until my sophomore year. Now everything is pretty steady. Definitely not where I would like to be yet but I’m still dreaming.

Second would be weddings (and bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, ect), I love helping people on their big day! I love watching events come together and making decorations and choosing colors! The simultaneous feelings of love and stress surrounding weddings is different from anything else and I love helping brides, grooms, and their families maneuver that day. I worked at a wedding venue for a bit over a year and discovered this particular passion. I had been planning my own wedding since before Pinterest existed but since it did I had boards on boards devoted to “My Someday.” Another dream I have is to be able to open a wedding venue, fingers crossed for Someday! While I worked there Shane, my now husband, came into my life. We had known each other since 6th grade and even “dated” in 8th grade but as soon as he came back I knew this one would stick. We started planning our wedding and this passion increased ten fold.

My wedding was everything I could have ever wanted, it was absolutely perfect and I want other people to have a day like that! Since then I have helped with day of details of a few weddings and am currently assisting in the full planning of a few more!
